Route Recce

Yesterday the team and I went out for a short slow ride around the time trial course that we did today. It was raining throughout the whole ride and since I was riding my race bike and had no mudguard I got ver, very wet.

It was a useful ride because it led me to the decision that I was able to use my clip on TT bars as there were some long straights and the hills were not too large

Easy flat ride

Just went out with three others from CC Ashwell to spin my legs over after belgium. We did a nice flat course at around 16.5 miles per hour.

Only two punctures which seemed a miracle when you consider how much rubbish there was on the roads. Unfortunately one of them was me. This means that my Bontrager winter tyres have lost their 100% record and may be getting towards the end of their servicable life.

North Road HardRiders Recce

Basically I just got quite lost today.

Went out with George from my team and followed the hardriders course for around seven miles before I got lost somewhere around Broxbourne. The map we had been given was terrible and we only just made it home before dark.

We managed to turn a twenty mile ride into a hilly forty mile epic with our legs still hurting from Belgium and almost dropping asleep on the bike after having arrived home at midnight.

It was a great trip with the east of england junior squad

1st day: Patterberg, Koppenberg (2 times in the wet) some killer cobbles in the rain     40 miles

2nd day: Muur/KappelMuur (2 times, once with Sandwich in hand), Bosberg (2 times)    70 miles

We had Emma Trott (Nederland Bloeit Team) guiding us in the team car!

3rd day: WolfenBerg, MolenBerg and 6 miles of flat cobbles                                                         50 miles

Here is a picture of me on the Bosberg

Cambridge to Home

It was a hard ride today especially as I had quite a hard headwind to go into.

The route home is a fun one but it only has one hill in it and its quite small. It is at Barrington and it is usually the place where the CC Ashwell sunday ride starts speeding up for the finish.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=chapel+hill+haslingfield&rls=com.microsoft:en-gb:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7ADFA_en&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=Chapel+Hill,+Haslingfield,+Cambridgeshire&gl=uk&ei=rZhaTZatMMev8gP87unVDw&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=image&resnum=1&ved=0CBcQ8gEwAA

Its quite a long link but it should give you a good idea of the hill.

About JoshRacer

Hi,

My name is Josh and I am proudly cycling in the Second Catergory of National Rankings in the UK. The interest for cycling started about four years ago, when I was searching for a way to stay fit in the rugby off-season.

Thanks to Orbit Software’s sponsorship, I am able to evolve fully in the cycling sport. Without Orbit Software’s support I would not have been able to achieve the Second Category in the National Rankings by the age of 17 years.

I hope my passion for cycling will be transformed throughout my ORBiTeer Cycling Blog.

Welcome to my blog!
